FAMILY was truly blessed to be able to purchase one of the most beautiful buildings in Kingston-the Forsyth House next to the Governor Clinton Hotel. Built in 1881, it has remarkable woodwork. One oddity about the building though was that it didn'thave an interior stairwell from the first floor to the finished basement, and for FAMILY,s purposes we needed it to be one building. My values are that any work that gets done to this building has to be of at least the quality of the existing building, and creating a stairwell and balustrade to match the existing one, was clearly a formidable task. I am a woodworker, but I turn to the only woodworker I know of who I knew could be sure of that same quality-Stephen Robin. The new stairwell is magnificent and I could not be happier.
I have been a client of Stephen Robin for many years now and am always astounded by the quality of his work and the mastery of his craft. The kitchen that he renovated is the perfect combination of design and utility. His exceptional pieces are built to our family’s specificities, yet incorporate his personal style and artistic flourish. The dining room table made of Sapele wood, is still in excellent condition and has been the centerpiece of our family dinners, parties and holiday events for many years. Stephen also designed many key pieces in our living room, including two elegant walnut side tables and a Bubinga coffee table. Our living room is long and narrow so to add dimension we consulted with Stephen, who built a custom ash carved mirror for us, which ties the room together.
Stephen Robin has done many projects for me. Over the years he has built all the bars and furniture for my restaurant. He recently designed and built my kitchen. His design sense is impecible and I am happy to know that he is there for my future projects projects
Stephen Robin made the task of transforming a very challenging kitchen space into one that’s beautiful yet functional, right down to the drawers that are sturdy enough to hold a complete service for eight plus eight heavy pasta bowls in one drawer. He was a joy to work, tuned into our needs, meticulous in the details, and his commitment to quality shines throughout!
Stephen Robin built us a spectacularly beautiful house in Willow, NY. The workmanship, and design were superb and we couldn’t be happier with his work. He also built several exquisite pieces of furniture which still look like new, though they are thirty years old.We love his artistic sensibility and most enthusiastically recommend him.
