We work together on large complex projects. We produce projects that are unique to our individual abilities in our own workshop. We welcome inquiries from architects and designers.
NY Fab Shop began with the desire to use skills acquired over our lifetimes to help bring dreams and ideas to life. We thrive on diversity of work and love to be thrown in new directions. With that said, we have honed our skills in the disciplines of design engineering, fine woodworking, metal working and machining, luthiery, furniture making and CNC manufacturing. We do this work because we love what we do and love to see our customers satisfied.
A Kerhonkson native now living in Ulster Park, Matt began building things at a young age with his father Barry Medenbach, and grandfather, Charlie Medenbach. After many years as an adult working in drab offices, Matt found the shop of Stephen Robin, where he learned technical skills as woodworker and found a proficiency for CNC woodworking. Matt founded Woodstock CNC Woodworking in 2019 where he continues to make custom cabinetry, furniture, and architectural elements.
I was trained as an architect. Over the last 40 years I have designed and built houses. Most recently being lead designer and maker on the FAMILY OF WOODSTOCK stair. Experience with Beachford stairs as lead designer gave me a great chance to tackle complex stair designs. I am well versed in working in the shop and in the field. I welcome Kitchen and/or Addition challenges and am available as my schedule permits.
My goals as design/maker of fine furniture have always been to build pieces with refined elegance. I trained at Rycotewood college in Oxfordsbhire, England with several of Englands best woodworkers.
My next training was in California with the renowned writer and furniture maker James Krenov.
